Institute L-5 can provide the knowledge about constructing physical, mathematical and computational models of real-world phenomena, including engineering problems. Its employees possess experience in generating new and integrating existing software which can be used for practical simulations of complex processes.

The main field of expertise is mechanics of structures and materials, however the range of interests goes beyond mechanics and typical problems. In particular, the Institute is ready to contract the following applied research: effective analysis of linear and nonlinear (initial) boundary value problems using modern computational methods, verification and interpretation of experimental results considering theoretical aspects of measurements, theoretical-numerical estimation of residual stresses in metal structures under cyclic loads, numerical determination of stress and deformation in materials with microstructure.
